Increase in Panama Government Tax
On May 8, 2012 the Legislative Assembly of Panama approved and published by Law No. 28 which increases the government tax on Panamanian corporations and foundations.
Starting, May 9, 2012, all companies must pay US$300 at the time of incorporation as opposed to US$250. The annual fee after the first year will remain the same at US$300. The Panama Private Interest Foundations must pay US$350 at the time of incorporation and US$400 annually after the first year.
All those companies and foundations that do not pay their annual maintenance fees for two consecutive years will incur a penalty of US$300 in addition to the existing US$50 for each year left to pay.
