Until August 28, 2019, Chaumet exhibits its most beautiful tiaras during the exhibition "Chaumet en Majesté, jewels of sovereigns since 1780" at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.
250, It is the number of jewels (many never unveiled), works of art and historical pieces that will be admired with the Chaumet exhibition. Jewels of sovereigns since 1780, set up by the French jewelry house founded by Marie-Étienne Nitot. And what better place than Monaco, emblematic principality, to host this exhibition dedicated to the diadem, to discover in the Grimaldi Forum. The program includes exceptional pieces such as the laurel leaves, diamonds and platinum diadem designed by Joseph Chaumet in 1920, Auguste-Amélie's pair of Auguste-Amélie bracelets-watches in gold, emeralds and fine pearls from the 1800s, or still the tiara of Edwina Mountbatten, Countess Mountbatten of Burma. Did you know that in antiquity, the diadem was synonymous with consecration, before it became a symbol of power, adopted by Napoleon who crowned himself with a model of six gold leaves on December 2, 1804. It will then be sublimated and feminized by Josephine, a personality that has undeniably inspired Chaumet. This object, almost cult, is transmitted from generation to generation, and continues to reinvent itself. A must see.
